Leadership Team
Bill Rees joined Enso Energy in April 2024 as Managing Director. He brings with him 14 years of experience from Centrica plc, where he was instrumental in creating the renewable and flexible assets platform, Centrica Energy Assets (now part of Centrica’s Power division). Bill established the team that acquired, developed, built, and operated over 400MW of new renewable and flexible assets.
In addition to his passion for sustainability, Bill grew up milking cows in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. He has a keen interest in agricultural and rural issues and is keen on exploring how renewables and agriculture can work together cohesively.

Simon joined Enso Energy in 2017 and has over 25 years’ experience in renewable energy and infrastructure development. Simon is responsible for Enso’s development programme and has had a central role in building Enso’s 10+GW development pipeline, as well as the growth of the Enso development team. Simon’s role also involves preparation and delivery of investment cases, ensuring Enso’s development processes are robust and that the projects that are being developed are well-managed and delivered.
Originally from Tasmania, Simon relocated to the UK in 2011 and maintains a keen interest in Australian Rules Football.

Duncan Pomeroy joined Enso Energy in April 2023. Prior to this Duncan worked for National Grid for over 25 years in multiple leadership roles including in Operations, Construction, Land Management and managing the Electricity Transmission Control Centre. Since joining Enso, he has significantly built the capability of the Grid Team and has been leading the way in navigating Enso’s projects through the connections process, building our relationship with key stakeholders in National Grid, and positioning us in readiness for future Connection Reforms. As well as being driven to clean up the electricity industry for future generations, Duncan is a keen cyclist and enjoys travel and supporting his local football team.

Louise Kennelly joined Enso Energy in October 2023 and manages Enso’s Business Operations, overseeing operational and people management functions critical to Enso’s Growth. Louise has 27 years working in the public sector, 8 years with the Royal Navy and 19 years with the Police Service as a Detective Investigator.
Louise has transferred her communication, organisational and investigative skills over to the private sector. She utilises her negotiating, analytical and problem-solving expertise in her current role. As well as effectively collaborating across the teams she ensures effective business processes are in place, including all areas of HR, compliance and employee engagement to foster a high-performance and compliant workforce.
Louise is a keen runner; she completed the London Marathon in 2023, and October 2024 completed the Jurassic Coast Ultra 54km Marathon. Louise has a passion for trail running and also enjoys triathlons.

Simon joined Enso Energy in 2021. Having previously been a Planning Director at a national planning and development consultancy Simon brings almost 20 years of extensive experience in successfully navigating energy infrastructure through the various UK consenting regimes.

Kim Studdert-Kennedy joined Enso Energy in April 2024 and manages the Finance Department. Kim’s journey began with a Master’s degree in French Language and Literature. She has since worked for more than 20 years in finance and running her own business. With experience in leading teams and business strategy, she is excited to be part of the developments at a growing company like Enso Energy. Outside of work, Kim’s favourite pastimes are Zumba and spending family holidays in her home country, the Netherlands.

Ryan joined Enso in November 2022 after a time with Ecotricity running B2B Sales, Merchant Wind portfolio and a time with the Domestic customer base. Since being with Enso Ryan has progressed to Head of Portfolio and Programme, he now heads up the Project Manager Team who keep an exciting and complex portfolio on track.
In addition, Ryan has helped shape the business in terms of governance and implementing systems to support growth and maturity in how report and track our projects.
Ryan is committed to Clean power 2030 and all elements of climate change including being a proud Vegan of 7 years.

Andrew Clarke joined Enso Energy in November 2023, where he oversees the commercial aspects of grid connections. He began his career as a maintenance electrician before moving to National Grid in 2010. During his tenure at National Grid, Andrew held various roles in operations, investment delivery, planning, and large infrastructure projects. Since joining Enso, he has embraced the challenges of the energy industry’s complexity. Andrew has been instrumental in building strong relationships and contributing to Enso’s growth as a leading company in renewables.
Andrew is also passionate about inspiring the next generation of STEM learners and hopes to help young people achieve their aspirations.

Owen joined Enso Energy in 2020 and has been within the renewable energy sector for nearly 10 years. Since Joining Enso, he has dealt with numerous negotiations for land acquisitions for large scale renewable energy projects and most notably, dealt with the land acquisition and development of Larks Green, the first co-located solar PV & BESS transmission project in the UK to connect into the National Grid network.
